The forest fire fighting environment is volatile and in constant evolution. During fire operations, it is crucial that every piece of equipment, particularly power pumps, are capable of being set-up quickly and efficiently. It is not uncommon for these fire pumps to have pump ends which may leak or be damaged due to the entry of foreign materials entering the pump. As a result, the ability to easily remove pump ends is absolutely critical during fire operations.

Typically, a pump clamp is used to secure both the engine and pump end together. However, if the pump clamp breaks due to over-tightening or misuse, there will be no means of keeping the pump end and engine together. Hence, a more robust concept and quicker means of clamping is required.

The new 1/4-turn pump attachment is an entirely new system which no longer requires a pump clamp. The mating faces allow the pump end to be locked into place by simply rotating the pump end with respect to the eared ring. In addition, the 1/4-turn system will allow the pump operator to select different discharge angles. In order to have the discharge of the pump body to point at different angles simply rotate the eared ring in the direction to achieve the proper angle and lock into place.

The key features are:

• Quick coupling

• Ease of removal

• Superior locking mechanism (Latch & Positive stop)

• Rotational capabilities (45° increments)

• Robust system

• Less moving parts

• Sleek appearance
